Are you ready for some SPOOK-tacular fun? NCircle Entertainment has three Halloween movies for you including WordWorld's, Kooky and Spooky Halloween, The Cat in the Hat's Tricks and Treats; and brand new this year, Sid the Science Kid's, Sids' Spooky Halloween!!
Sid's Spooky Halloween: Sid the Science Kid Sid’s Spooky Halloween
It’s Halloween! Join Sid and his friends as they discover how bats catch
mosquitoes, why spiders are expert engineer web builders, and how
skeletons make up the foundation of our bodies. The kids dress up to
celebrate Halloween at school, and Teacher Suzie leads them in a special
Halloween parade song to show off their costumes! With Sid the Science
Kid, Halloween can be spooky and scientific!
My boys are always eager to watch Sid and his friends. The boys got a good laugh at me when they were talking about spiders building webs. Yep, spiders are really not my favorite things!! However, Sid always manages to get his lesson across and my boys have been discussing web building ever since they watched this!
WordWorld's Kooky Spooky Halloween: The
WordFriends get their scare the night before Halloween when Pig sleep
walks and everyone thinks he's a ghost. Then, Sheep makes herself a
fairy costume to wear to the party, but what will she do when
WordFriends end up needing parts of her costume to make their own?
We enjoy Word World. I liked it for learning when my kids couldn't spell at all, and now I have a first grader who is learning to spell and it is very educational for him too. I love to hear him spell out the words. This show is benefiting my preschooler to identify his letters. He only knows a few right now. I think the funniest thing about this Halloween special came when pig was running around with the sheet on his head. My four year old wanted to know if he put on a sheet if that would turn him into a ghost. I giggled a little bit, and explained that pig got tangled up and he is now wearing a costume.
The Cat in the Hat in Tricks and Treats: A new spooky adventure this DVD brings, with The Cat, Nick and Sally,
Fish and the Things. Meet the eeriest critters you have ever seen,
arrived just in time for this Halloween! There’ll be lots of tricks and,
of course lots of treats, to share with the animal friends you will
meet! There’s a coconut crab, spider monkeys and bats, and plenty more
fun with The Cat in the Hat!
This is the DVD that we have watched the most. I admit often that I don't like the Cat in the Hat. Something about that troublesome cat gets me angry. However, this new PBS version is really good. I find the Cat to be more fun and educational instead of tearing up everything!! In this DVD, one of the things the Cat talks about is echolocation. The boys had a blast practicing their "echos."
You can find these directly for sale at the NCirlce Entertainment website! The price is listed at $6.99 each, but I see them on sale for $5.99.
