Oh, my, the yummy Butterfinger candy bar. We love them around this house! Did you know that this candy bar has been around for 90 years? Yes, indeed they have, and they are celebrating their anniversary over on facebook. Butterfinger is in the midst of a 90 day countdown and today is day number 56. You can go to their facebook page and tell them what you love about butterfinger, or just share some memory. During the course of the 90 days, they will feature some vintage photos, cute daily facts and trivia, and more.
Since the 1920's, when the term “butterfinger,” was used by sportscasters to describe athletes who were unable to hold onto a beaseball or football, Butterfinger has become a brand known for humor, including Bart Simpson as its spokesperson. The candy bar was even involved in an April Fool's joke renaming the bar, "The Finger."
I am glad that the crispety, crunchety, peanut-buttery candy bar is still around. Last night we couldn't help ourselves and had Butterfingers for an after school snack. Yep, they didn't last around this house very long!! Yummy! Lately over the recent holidays, I have fallen in love with the Butterfinger Jingle Bells, and the Butterfinger hearts.
