A new study released by the American Academy of Pediatrics calls attention to the dangers of TV tip-overs. SANUS®, the leading brand of TV wall mounts in the United States, supports the study’s senior author, Dr. Gary Smith, in his lead to take action against this increasing problem, offering TV mounting as a solution. SANUS® offers an array of TV wall mounts, a simple yet safe solution to help eliminate tip-over incidents in the home. When embarking upon TV mounting, SANUS® mounting expert, Ryan Hagberg, can offer tips and best practices to mount a TV safely.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics study, more than 17,000 children – one every 30 minutes – are treated in emergency rooms across the country for TV related injuries every year. The rate of children hurt from TVs tipping over has nearly doubled in two decades. From 2000 to 2011, government data show that 215 children died from these injuries.
This year, SANUS® and Safe Kids Worldwide partnered to educate consumers about the risk of unsecured flat panel TVs tipping and provide safety solutions. Due to increasing sizes and new ultra thin designs, today’s flat panel TVs can tip when bumped or pulled, causing them to topple off furniture, potentially causing injury or even death.
SANUS® encourages parents to take proper precautions to decrease these preventable accidents by mounting TVs in the home.
SANUS® TV wall mounts are available at Best Buy, Costco, Target and Walmart stores plus additional Audio/Video retailers.
