H&R Block Launches One-of-a-Kind Tax Preparation Solution Plus Discount Codes

New solution kicks off with $100 discount to families with children born in 2011

The company that invented the retail tax preparation industry continues to redefine the way taxpayers will complete their tax returns now and in the future. Today, H&R Block launched a brand new service, Block LiveSM, which allows taxpayers to have their tax return prepared by an H&R Block tax professional in real time via online video conference, chat, or by telephone.

Block Live provides the convenience of tax preparation virtually anytime or anywhere with the expertise of highly skilled tax professionals from H&R Block. This service is ideal for taxpayers who have busy family schedules, work from home, travel extensively, work remotely, serve in the military or just want the convenience of filing taxes in the comfort of their own home combined with the expertise an H&R Block tax professional provides.

To celebrate the birth of this innovative solution, H&R Block is offering a $100 discount to those who will need its convenience the most – busy parents with newborns. To help parents who will be claiming their newest little dependent for the first time this tax season, families with a child born in the year 2011 are eligible for the discount. The offer is open to the first 1,000 parents to email BlockLive@hrblock.com and request a special coupon code.*

“The introduction of Block Live provides an innovative new way for clients to access the industry’s best trained tax professionals when, where, and how they want to be served,” said Phil Mazzini, president of assisted tax preparation services at H&R Block. “We are bringing the expertise of our network of tax professionals directly to the taxpayer. Block Live literally takes the ‘trip’ out of the trip to the tax office.”

Block Live is a proprietary online tool with a video interface that enables face-to-face conversations between the taxpayer and the tax professional. Taxpayers with a computer, a camera and microphone can interact in real time via video with their tax professional. Taxpayers also have the option of using the phone and real time chat. The taxpayer also shares documents back and forth securely through the program with a tax professional to complete the return.

For more information or to schedule an appointment with a tax professional through Block Live, visit www.hrblock.com/live.
H&R Block’s tax professionals provide guaranteed tax return preparation services in-person at retail tax offices open year-round and through Block LiveSM, the only face-to-face online tax preparation experience available in the industry. Do-it-yourself filers benefit from the expertise and guidance of The Tax Institute at H&R Block when using H&R Block At Home™ on their computers, tablets and smartphones. Because understanding taxes is an integral part of managing personal finances, H&R Block keeps the conversation going with clients all year via blogs, tweets and Facebook status updates.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH BLOCK LIVE
So, there is no way you are going to file your own taxes, right?  On the other hand, you hate to have to drag the kids, or find a sitter and actually go to a tax professional, right?  Well, what's left to do?  Use Block Live.  This is a super easy, and yes kind of fun way to file taxes.  I clicked onto Block Live, clicked start now, get started, and then I typed in the zip code.  Following that, I list of tax professionals popped up.  There is a nice picture with the person's name and where they are from.  You just pick the one you want and click connect.  You can choose to use this service with your webcam and microphone so that you can have a face to face conversation with your tax professional, or you can have them call you.  You can use the chat feature interchangeably as well.  I am fine with the phone, so that is what I went with.  I used the chat feature many times when I wanted to just copy and paste info over.  I had to create an account real quick, which was basically my email address and password. My professional, Elaine, asked me several questions to find out about our family, and what forms she would have to use.  None of this was my concern or worry, she just asked questions about who in the family worked, if anyone was in school, questions about school loans, and so on and so forth.  You will need to scan, fax, or use your iphone app to get the W-2 uploaded for them.  I am on my way to fax mine, since I don't have a scanner of a fancy phone............Also some employers have an import feature to obtain the W-2 electronically, but mine didn't have that either.  No big deal, faxing will only take me a sec.  I had to give her a few numbers here and there, and that was it.  Super easy, and I didn't have to worry about a thing.  So again, if you are one of those people who do not like to file their own, but need the convenience of filing at home, this is your best bet.

H&R Block gave me 5 $50.00 off discount codes to give away.
To enter just visit Block LiveSM, take a look around, and come back and let me know you did.

Thank you to H&R Block for my preview and for my winner's discount codes.
