When I was little I watched Sesame Street all of the time. Apparently it was the only thing that I watched!! I also was lucky enough to see Sesame Street Live twice when I was little. I was extremely excited to find out that I was going to take my three little boys. Although my boys don't watch Sesame Street near as much as I did, they are huge fans of Elmo. My littlest got Let's Rock Elmo and his keyboard for Christmas!!
We went to see the St. Louis show on Saturday. The night before there was such a horrible ice storm that it took people 3 times their normal driving time to get home. I was really worried that we would not be able to go. Luckily when we got up in the morning, the weather was better. We left two hours early, and the interstate was just fine. I wanted to leave plenty of time to get parked and hopefully let the children play in the play zone. Well, long story short, we arrived two minutes late. Why? Well, I was driving and I made a small mistake with my directions, and we got lost. Oh, well, we still made it for the show, but I can't comment on how great the playzone was. It sounded great from what the other little kids were saying!!! So we found our seats and immediately started to have a good time. The whole show was packed with music that had us in our seats dancing, or in my middle son's case, out of his seat dancing!!! There were plenty of times when the characters asked the audience to shout something back, which kept us entertained. Once, Jenny, the music teacher, asked what the first letter of everyone's names were. My son yelled H. She said, "I think I heard the letter H." Now, I know that she couldn't have possible have heard my son say that, but he thought she did. He was so happy that she said his letter out loud. The characters did their typical letter and number of the day, and of course Count did his number song. Overall the singing, dancing, and plot was great, and it kept all three of my children entertained throughout the whole performance, which every parent knows is so important.
Sesame Street Live
“Elmo Makes Music”
Oklahoma City, OK; Cox Convention
Center
Friday, March 16 through Sunday, March 18, 2012
Mark your calendar
for this once-in-a-lifetime event—monsters becoming musicians! Elmo, The Count,
Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Bert & Ernie and all their funny and furry
friends are taking to the stage to share the magical world of music with
children. When Jenny, the new Sesame
Street music teacher, moves into town, her
instruments get lost. Jenny’s new Sesame
Street friends quickly come to her rescue, and
they all discover "instruments" that they never knew existed…rubber
duckies, trash can lids and even their own laps! The characters teach children,
and themselves, that everyone has the ability to make beautiful music, whether
they realize it or not. Don’t miss this opportunity to count along with The
Count, visit Elmo’s World and do the Crumb-A-Rumba with Rosita and Cookie
Monster at Sesame Street Live "Elmo
Makes Music."
