Kids Xlear Soothing and Moisturizing Spray Review

Parents are right in telling their children to keep their noses out of other people's business. According to Dr. Alonzo "Lon" Jones, D.O., board-certified Family Physician and xylitol expert, germs are most effectively spread when we rub our noses with our hands and, in fact, hand washing is not the best way to prevent the spreading of communicable diseases.

While kids engage with others on play dates and climb around on jungle gyms; they are exposed to a great number of germs and bacteria which easily enter their nasal passages upon contact and can lead to colds and infection. For this reason, Dr. Jones stresses that kids should keep their noses clean, especially after washing their hands.

Xlear, recognized as one of the leading manufacturers of xylitol based products in the United States, provides kids with a soap for the nose, so to speak, with their Kid's Nasal Spray. The easy-to-spray formula, with the perfect balance of saline and all-natural xylitol, has proven to be more effective at soothing and moisturizing nasal passages than OTC sprays with just saline alone. The hyper-osmotic solution helps pull moisture toward it, preventing your child's airways and sinuses from drying out quickly. Not to mention that regular use of this product is also extremely effective at reducing the occurrence of ear infections, particularly in children. With no minimum age requirement (as the product itself only contains xylitol and saline) infants only a few days old can benefit from xylitol’s amazing health enhancing properties. Xlear Kid's Nasal Spray is available for purchase for $6.99 at Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe and www.xlear.com

My little boys are 8, 6, and 3. Our whole family has terrible allergies and sinus problems.  I have tried to use saline on them before, but it didn't seem to work well, and I couldn't exactly get it in their nose properly.  The makers of Xlear suggest laying the younger children on their back and actually using this more as nose drops.  My eight year old freaks out about everything, so I did the same for him. I tried it out on all three, and they didn't mind too much that I put the drops in.  They thought they felt a little funny after they sat up, but that is to be expected.  Afterwards, I asked them if their little noses felt less dry, and they said yes.  They have let me use them again, so that speaks for itself!!!

Thank you to Xlear for my sample used in this review.  My opinions are my own and honest.
