Cooper and Me and the Military Children's Book Review and Giveaway

Meet Trooper, Cooper’s best friend, and learn how he was adopted by Gracie and Joe and their parents, who both serve in the military. Find out how this family stays close despite being separated.

A must-read during patriotic holidays and for anyone with friends and family in the military, this book helps children know, that even when loved ones aren’t with us, they still love us and think about us. This book, along with all the other books in the Cooper and  Me series, includes these interactive features:
      • A Special Memory Creation
• Life Lesson
• Connections
• Learning Together

In addition to a fun adventure, each Cooper and Me story teaches an important Life Lesson and features interactive materials at the back of the book to drive the message home.  Included are activities that help children name and process their own feelings about what they’ve read.
This is our third "Cooper and Me" book that we have read. For those of you who are not familiar with these books, they are actually written Monique and Alexa Peters, an 11-year-old girl and her mother, who love to tell stories inspired by their own family dog.  I think it is a great idea to have a book showing children about how our military's family lives, and it was delicately shown through children's eyes.  The book subtly told us how the children had to stay with their grandma while their parents were deployed, and we got to see how the children stayed in contact with their parents.  Of course, we loved to see the friendship between Cooper and Trooper, and the friendship between Trooper and Gracie and Joe. In the back of this book there is a little letter that shows children how to actually write someone in the military and it gives information on where you can send it.  I thought that was a nice touch.  My husband and most of his family served in the Navy, and I want to mention that we are very proud of our Military, and appreciate everything that they do for us.

Be sure to check out the Cooper and Me website to find more information about the series, as well as, printables and other fun stuff for your children!
